What FieldScout Stores
FieldScout stores data locally on your device only. This includes:
- Family profile information (names, ages, medical conditions) you enter during setup
- Emergency contacts and meeting points you configure
- Checklist and inventory data (items, quantities, expiration dates)
- Document vault contents (photos of IDs, insurance cards, prescriptions) — encrypted with AES-256 on your device
- Mesh communication messages sent and received via Meshtastic LoRa radio
- Map tiles downloaded for offline use
- App settings and preferences
All of this data resides exclusively on your device. Lions Logistics LLC has no access to it, cannot read it, and does not receive it.
What FieldScout Does NOT Collect
- We do not collect personal information
- We do not track your location (GPS is used locally for map display only — your coordinates are never sent to our servers)
- We do not use analytics or crash reporting SDKs
- We do not use advertising or ad tracking
- We do not use cookies or web beacons
- We do not sell, share, or transfer any data to third parties
- We do not maintain user accounts or databases of user information
Encrypted Backup
FieldScout offers optional encrypted backup to your personal iCloud (iOS) or Google Drive (Android) account. This backup:
- Is encrypted before leaving your device
- Is stored in your cloud storage account, not ours
- Contains your family profile, checklists, vault contents, emergency card data, and app settings
- Can only be decrypted by FieldScout on a device signed into your same Apple ID or Google account
Lions Logistics LLC has no access to your backup data.
Mesh Communication
When you use FieldScout's mesh communication feature with a Meshtastic LoRa radio:
- Messages are transmitted over the LoRa radio frequency, not the internet
- Messages are encrypted using the Meshtastic protocol's AES-256 encryption
- Message content is stored locally on your device
- If you opt into the public mesh network, your device may relay messages from other mesh users — this is a function of the Meshtastic protocol and does not involve Lions Logistics LLC's servers
Grid Watch Integration
FieldScout includes a daily threat intelligence brief from Grid Watch (gridwatch.prepper.blog) for one year from the date of your app purchase.
To verify your purchase entitlement, FieldScout sends your App Store or Play Store purchase receipt to our API server at api.prepper.blog. This receipt token confirms you purchased the app — it does not contain your name, email, location, or any personal information.
The daily brief is national-level content (not location-specific) and is cached on your device for offline access. No location data or personal information is sent to Grid Watch servers.
The Grid Watch dashboard (gridwatch.prepper.blog) is a separate product with its own data practices, governed by the Grid Watch privacy policy. Using FieldScout does not create a Grid Watch account.
In-App Purchases
FieldScout uses Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store for in-app purchases (map packs, content packs). Purchase transactions are processed entirely by Apple or Google. Lions Logistics LLC receives confirmation of your purchase (a receipt token) but does not receive your payment information, credit card number, or billing address.
Third-Party Services
FieldScout uses the following third-party services:
- RevenueCat — for in-app purchase management and receipt validation. RevenueCat receives anonymous purchase receipt data from Apple/Google. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
- Cloudflare — for content delivery (map tiles and content pack downloads via Cloudflare R2). When you download a map region or content pack, Cloudflare may process your IP address in standard server logs as part of delivering the file. Cloudflare does not receive your name, account information, or any data from the FieldScout app beyond the download request. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
No other third-party services, SDKs, or APIs are used.
Children's Privacy
FieldScout is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. The app does not require an account or collect personal information from any user, regardless of age.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version at this URL and update the effective date. Significant changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
